Who we are
Nownet Ltd, a UK company, operates this site and The World signal-monitoring service. We are the data controller for the information described here. Contact: phil@nownetsecurity.com.
The three forms
| Form | What it collects | Why | How long we keep it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pilot request | Name, organisation, role, sector, the assumptions you want watched, email, your consent | To respond to your request and, if you proceed, to scope the pilot | Until the enquiry is closed, or for the length of any pilot or licence plus twelve months for our records |
| Monthly note | Email address | To send one email a month on the day each sweep publishes | Until you unsubscribe (every note carries a link, and a one-line email to us works too) |
| Refer a colleague | Your name, your colleague's name and email, an optional note, your confirmation that you have a working relationship with them | To send your colleague one introductory email that names you | Your colleague's details are deleted within 30 days unless they reply; your name is kept with that one email only |
Where it goes
Form submissions are received by Netlify Forms, the form service of our hosting provider, and forwarded to the owner's mailbox. They are stored in both places. Netlify processes data on our behalf under its own terms; we do not pass your details to anyone else, and we do not sell or share them.
What we do not do
- No advertising, analytics or tracking cookies. If we add server-side visit counting later, it will not identify you and this notice will say so.
- No profiling or automated decisions about you. The service's AI systems analyse public information about the world, not information about you.
- No marketing beyond what you asked for: the note goes only to people who subscribed; pilot requests get a reply, not a campaign.
Server logs
Our host keeps ordinary web-server logs — IP address, page requested, time, browser type — for security and to keep the site running. These are retained for a short period by the host and are not used to identify visitors.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask us what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, object to our using it, or ask for a copy. Email phil@nownetsecurity.com and we will respond within one month. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Legal basis
Pilot requests and referrals: your consent, given on the form, and our legitimate interest in responding to an enquiry you made. The monthly note: your consent. You can withdraw consent at any time by email.
Changes
If this notice changes we will update the date below and, for anything material, tell subscribers in the next note.
